LiWei

hmm well i pilfered this link from newstoday…pretty strange and wonderful stuff from chinese artist LiWei
His first significant public exposure was at the Tbird Shanghai Biennale in 2000.During the opening ceremony, without any official invitation, he entered the gallery lobby to execute a performance piece. He showed up with a three -foot -square mirror with a hole, large enough to accommodate his head and neck. He places his head through the hole, his face reflected in the mirror. Looking at the mirror, his face seemed to be floating with the audience opposite, also reflected in the mirror. Viewers were surprised to find their images overlapping with the artist’s face. – Zhang Zhaohui

Hmm a video game that strengthens the mind…sounds BORING! hahahah well now take a look and decide for yourself and then go to work on your “DS Brian Age”
Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day for Nintendo DS is a fun, rewarding form of entertainment everyone can enjoy, as it helps players flex their mental muscles. Brain Age is inspired by the research of Professor Ryuta Kawashima, a prominent Japanese neuroscientist. His studies evaluated the impact of performing certain reading and mathematic exercises to help stimulate the brain.

If you can’t afford one of these fancy Cintiq tablets (i tried one out a siggraph a year or so ago and they are worth the $ if you got it to burn)-

maybe this new tool from Logitech will hold you over until you can!
Divided (like a pizza) into 8 cells that can be filled with tools, filters, commands, files or applications, tooldial allows you to quickly customize your workflow. Drag and drop your most frequently needed items onto the NuLOOQ console to build your own custom interface.
i am not sure what is with the really goofy names for these things…”NuLOOQ”??? but hey it ONLY works on the mac so buy one and snub your PeeCee based designer friends…as if they need more annoyance, they’re running windows!
Personally i own one of these griffin powermate dealies. it is cheaper than the others, but has less features. i like it as it works pretty well in Final Cut and audio apps likw Garageband as a scrubber…

Travel Ephemera
March 2, 2006
Wow loads of cool old design from the 20′s and 30′s!
This is a virtual online gallery I’ve created to display and share the best items in my collection of 1920s and 1930s travel-related ephemera. It is not my whole collection, just a portion (oh, I wish I had the time now!). Everything on this website is original. The material is not reproductions.
Here is a link to the website (put on your sunglasses and hit the links on left side of the page to view loads of sweet old design stuff):
Painted Room Illusions
